[WATCH]: akad nikah ceremony in a traditional malay wedding
The akad nikah is the solemnisation of marriage in a traditional Malay wedding. It is done by either the father of the bride, or delegated to the kadi or other designated Islamic religious official. The groom must say the acceptance of marriage in one breath, so to speak, otherwise it has to be taken again. And the witnesses, sitting on both sides of the kadi, will attest whether the groom has correctly uttered the acceptance of the marriage in one breath. This is the akad nikah of Ahmad
